Effective August 1, 2024, the CRESA Administrative Board has adopted a new fee schedule for obtaining copies of public records. This change comes in response to a 185% increase in records requests over the last decade, growing from 2,705 requests in 2012 to 7,700 in 2023. The increasing volume and complexity of requests have required additional staff time, technical expertise, and legal review, resulting in higher administrative costs.
The updated fee schedule reflects the actual costs associated with processing requests, ensuring continued access to public records while maintaining efficient operations and responsible use of taxpayer resources.
