From July 7–9, CRESA is proud to host its eighth consecutive on-site assessment as part of our re-accreditation process with the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA®).
This important milestone marks the final step in our four-year accreditation cycle—a rigorous process designed to ensure that Clark Regional Emergency Services Agency (CRESA) continues to meet the highest standards in public safety operations, management, and support services.
Established in 1979 through a Department of Justice grant, CALEA exists to enhance the delivery of public safety services. The organization does this by:
By maintaining CALEA accreditation, CRESA reaffirms its ongoing dedication to transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement.
This year’s on-site assessment is being led by Ms. Julie Righter Dove, a seasoned CALEA Assessor with more than 40 years of experience in public safety communications. She holds a degree in Telecommunications Systems Management and is a Life Member of the Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO) International.
Ms. Dove has served in various leadership roles within CALEA, including as a Commissioner from 2012 to 2020, and brings a wealth of insight and professionalism to this process.
During her visit, Ms. Dove will meet with selected CRESA staff and representatives from our public safety partners. These meetings—whether in person or virtual—will focus on how we do our jobs and ensure our operations align with CALEA’s national standards.
Public feedback plays an important role in the accreditation process. If you’d like to share your thoughts on how CRESA is doing or our ability to comply with CALEA standards, you can submit written comments in one of the following ways:
Thank you for supporting CRESA as we continue our commitment to serving Clark County with integrity, professionalism, and excellence in public safety.
